Purpose of the service

Legionella Screenpublishes reference material on legionella requirements for building water systems, lists laboratories enrolled in the CDC ELITE proficiency program, and lets a visitor describe a building so that, after a call back and with the visitor’s agreement, the description can be passed to one independent laboratory or environmental service provider. It performs no sampling and operates no laboratory. Legionella Screen is an independent reference on legionella compliance for buildings and cooling towers. It sells no sampling, analysis or treatment, helps you scope what your building actually needs, and passes that scoped request to a qualified water management or sampling professional covering your area.

What using this site does not create

  • No contract for work of any kind between you and Legionella Screen.
  • No guarantee that a specialist will contact you, quote, or be available.
  • No opinion on your building, no interpretation of any result, no statement of compliance and no medical or public health advice.
  • No commitment on price, schedule or method.

Your obligations

The information you submit should be accurate to the best of your knowledge, and you should be entitled to commission work on the property concerned or to be acting for someone who is. Submitting projects you have no intention of pursuing, or somebody else’s contact details, is a misuse of the service.

Content on this site

The technical pages are written to be accurate and are reviewed on a stated date. They are general explanation, not advice on a specific building. Standards, guidance and regulations change; any statement that matters to a decision should be verified against its current source, and any program, sampling plan or interpretation should be produced by qualified professionals.

Limits of liability

Legionella Screen is not a party to any agreement you enter into with a provider, and is not responsible for the sampling performed, the laboratory analysis, the interpretation of results, the accreditation held by any company, the price charged or any consequence of them.

Availability

The site is provided as it is. Interruptions, maintenance and changes to the content are expected and are not a breach of anything.
